causing an effect: Tāwhiri can be seen in the impact he has on others

Whether it’s waves out at sea, leaves falling from the vine, or ya girl’s hair any other day, Tāwhirimātea (atua of wind) can be seen in his interactions with other elements. On his own, it’s difficult to observe his movements or keep track of where he is, what he’s up to.. him being blind, I don’t think the bro knows either.. haha I’m just playing… when one of the senses is lost, the others are heightened, I knowwww… anyway..

Building on from last weeks post about the relationship and interactions between Tāne (atua of the forest, pursuit of excellence), Tāwhirimātea and Hineahuone (Earth-formed Maiden, first human).

“She was given everything she needed and nothing she didn’t, she was built for purpose.. a significant moment in our whakapapa (genealogy, ancestry) where te ira atua (divine/godly line of descent) was woven together with te ira tangata (the human/mortal line) for the first time..”

So, as current day expressions of Tāne, realising potential in our own ways — whatever that means for you,

going after our own kete (baskets) and filling them up with different kai (forms of sustenance) to contribute back to our whānau and communities..

As expressions of Hineahuone, we have and we are everything we need to do the things we want to do, be who we want to be, give what we want to give to the world and have what we want to have. We’re living whakapapa in action — we’re enough, we’re worthy. it’s #facts.

As expressions of Tāwhiri, energy moving through the elements,

Our impact can be observed in our relationship with other elements in our lives. Whether that be kaupapa (projects, initiatives), people, purpose, place or otherwise — Tāwhiri can be seen in the impact he has on others…

When you think about your life, your mission, purpose, goal or vision for why you’re here and the purpose you’re here to serve.. is it relational?

Think about his physical characteristics or how he’s expressed in our taiao (natural environment); formless, filling space, in touch with everything all around us… then think about how all forms of life require oxygen or some type of engagement with Tāwhiri to survive..

So how could we harness or develop our relationship with him in more effective ways to improve our relationships with the elements we value in our world?

Hai whakaaro, hai wānanga mā tātou. Something for us to consider.

Tēnā tātou,

Hana.
