you've made the decision, now actually take the leap

You’ve prepared, psyched yourself up, done all the groundwork.. you’re ready! It’s a defining moment in your life, you know how the behaviours and habits you had could only get you so far along your path and it’s time to detach from the old to make space for the new.

It’s time to actually take action and affect change.

It’s time..

Let’s go..

Let’s doooo this..

You gottttt this…

Aahhhh but it’s scary though…. or there’s something or someone in our current situation we like or feel drawn/attached to and don’t want to distance ourselves from.. it’s comfortable.. iT’s nOt EveN tHat bAD?! things could be waaaay worse.. we should be grateful for what we have and where we are. Right?

Well let’s say, ‘not wrong’ lol all of those thoughts and feels are valid, that’s what we’ve been covering that the last two cycles — it’s natural, it’s normal to feel the jitters, nerves, apprehension and fear. There’s atua (elemental forces) within us who are physically expressed as those exact things! So all of it, everything ya feeling is valid…

but so what?

Is that enough of a reason for us to remain where and as we are?

“If nothing changes, nothing changes” and sometimes there are factors influencing our ability to make moves but there are opportunities to be self-determining big and small all around us. Like choosing to take the leap of faith into uncharted territory regardless of how we might feel.

It’ll take cultivating courage to make a habit of it and strengthen that muscle. It’ll mean making sure there’s enough room to leap into by clearing out the redundant, obsolete and counterproductive to our aspirations and dreams. It’ll require wānanga and reflection to attune ourselves to our sense of purpose and role in the scheme of things.

And also our sense of inherent responsibility.

To the thousands of years of whakapapa who’ve come before us who faced their own dilemmas of whether to take the leap or not. Some did, some probably didn’t.

Just like te ira atua! Some of them were quite content where they were and didn’t want a bar of the ‘new world of light’ somewhere elsewhere… and like we mentioned earlier — valid and ok. Nevertheless….

We can’t affect or change the decisions made before our time, but we can sure do something about what we do (or don’t do). And we can dial up the connection to the atua and tupuna (ancestors) who did take action, who leapt into the unknown and live on in us today as a result.

It might take a couple attempts or we might need a hype song or hype crew to help get us there, but the leap itself is inevitable. Go through your processes and remember the feeling, tūps got backs — always.*

Tēnā tātou,

Hana.

*tupuna got your back. you can trust in 100000s of years of whakapapa
