What if you were great?

What if you were great and brilliant and daring, adventurous, innovative, creative, powerful, self-determining, aspirational, intentional? What if you were atua? The whole universe in physical form with limitless power and energies to live out your wildest dreams

— or do your part in manifesting your tupuna’s wildest, most aspirational dreams?!

What if the ability and capacity to affect positive change were all within you and have been since ages ago?

What if all of these were true and you’d been told to play small, you were unintelligent, uncaring, delinquent, unworthy, unable to accomplish anything, destined to fail at anything and everything, and never be who you wanted to be and live the kinda life you wanted?

What if the powers that be created a system that deliberately made you believe the latter? Walk with me for a little, let’s play this out.. so you played by those rules. you closed the metaphorical gates, you limited yourself and let your potential be limited by others (consciously or unconsciously).

What if you’d been reinforcing your own self-destruction (spiritually, intellectually, emotionally.. probably all the -ly’s ha) trying to fit in with levels of comprehension that imprison you and keep you small,

rather than build you up and support you to living out your best life?

The level of thinking that has brought us this far has created problems this level of thinking cannot solve’ — we need to enter into a new, creative, aspirational, imaginative, boundless way of thinking.. let the problem-focused approach set in the west, kia ngangana ai te ao hou, to bring about the light of the new world. a new way of being, thinking, living, doing, giving, contributing that is aspirational and empowering by its effect..

One has to die for the other to flourish, and ooh I know which one I’d rather get rid of. There’s no doubt it’ll be hard, but we can gain confidence in the fact it’s already been done before. It’s part of our whakapapa to create, to birth new worlds, new possibilities, new light and for those to die and set when it is their time.

We’re whakapapa in action, we’re living this sequence every day and we must do our part to ask questions of ourselves and others and seek the light. Just as our tupuna did, just as our mokopuna will do.

So, what if you were great? How would you behave, what thoughts would you think, what values would you have? How intentional would you be about what you did, how you did it and why?

What if... won’t be interesting to find out?

Tēnā tātou,

Hana.
